Fire

The Stockton Fire Department is a small volunteer organization composed of 20 active fire personnel. We operate using two pumper trucks each carrying 1000 gallons of water, two brush trucks, two water tenders (tankers) that, combined carry 6500 gallons of water and one rescue truck including the jaws of life as well as all the supporting equipment. The department responds to on average 50 fires a year. Recent years extended drought have brought that number up, unfortunately. The department has mutual aid agreements with all surrounding departments and all fire departments in Rooks county work well together to protect the people of Rooks County. The Stockton Fire Department and Stockton Ambulance Service support each other having automatic mutual aid responses depending on the type of emergency that exists. Plainville Fire Department and Stockton Fire Department share automatic mutual aid agreements for structure fires within the county. Stockton Fire Department also shares responses with Woodston Fire Department by providing extra manpower and equipment.
